A.C.T.S. Circle
Action, Commitment, Talent, Service
When we meet
A.C.T.S. Circle meets at 9:30 AM in the Parlor on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
What our meetings are like:
We share a brief social time, refreshments, prayer and devotions, business, and a member-led discussion of the current Horizons study. A babysitter is available with prior notice. Please contact Marcia VanHamme, our circle representative.
Our Invitation
We are a warm, friendly and chatty bunch. One memeber recently described her fellow circle members as her "small army of friends" who were there with "hugs, food, support -- even tissues" whenever needed. We welcome any women to join us.
Our Highlights:
In 2011 members began volunteering with Bridgepointe, assisting in the opening of the Phoenix Academy (Detroit) library. We cooked and served dinner for our SOS guests and served lunch for the PWPD Gathering. Our June annual service project was the weeding and pruning of the flower beds on the west and south sides of the Sanctuary. July found 7 members enjoying the 5th annual Moms retreat at the Van Hamme’s cottage near Harrison, Michigan. In December over potluck and a white elephant gift exchange, we shared our many blessings, providing and wrapping over $650 in Christmas gifts to a family through Farmington Youth Assistance and also collected items for Sweet Dreamzz. We continue with our commitment to World Vision by ‘adopting’ a 6 year old girl in India that we began in June 2009. Circle members take turns donating $35 per month. Full and part time employment prevents some members from attending on a regular basis but we still averaged 10 members per meeting.
