Handbell Choir

Our church is blessed with three octaves of English handbells and two octaves of hand chimes.  We have plenty of parts for anyone who wants to take part in this choir.

Why Handbells?

They sound beautiful and add a unique sound to worship.  They're fun to play and playing in a bell choir is a distinct and meaningful way of worshiping God with others.  No single ringer carries the melody; the beauty of the pieces comes from the harmony of the ringers together.

When does the handbell choir rehearse?

Our ringing choir rehearses from 7:30 to 8:30 pm each Wednesday from September through June.

How often does the handbell choir play in worship?

We play during worship on the third Sunday of each month.  On select occasions throughout the year, the Handbell Choir also joins with other ensembles to enrich our worship.

What musical background is necessary?

The ability to read music is extremely helpful.  No previous bell- or other choir experience is necessary.  If you're not sure, we welcome you to sit in on one of our rehearsals.  Just contact Jerry Custer. You can use the Contact Us page of this website, call the church office at 248-474-6170, or just flag him down on any Sunday.
