MusicIt is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High. -Psalm 92:1
Experience Unforgettable Music in a Sacred Place. First Presbyterian hosts talented artists who bring music from a wide variety of origins to our community in our Performing Arts Series.
Serving God with MusicChristian music is an avenue to serve God with hearts and minds and voices, and music at First Presbyterian encompasses all of the members of the church, from youngest to oldest. No matter who you are, there is always room in the music program of this church for you!
![]() Chancel Choir sings at the 10 am worship each Sunday, presenting beautiful anthems to God and leading the congregation as they praise God with hymns and responses.
The Gathering Music Team helps the congregation to joyfully prepare for 10:00 am worship by leading us in informal, mostly contemporary music at 9:45 am.
The Instrumental Ensemble includes instrumentalists of any age and plays in worship on the second and fourth Sunday each month.
![]() Handbell Choir: Our church is blessed with three octaves of English handbells and two octaves of hand chimes. We welcome new ringers!
Children's Music: Learning to worship God through music (singing and instrumental music) is a key part of our mid-week LOGOS program for children and youth. Our LOGOS children lead the congregation in worship on monthly basis.
Hanging of the Greens Musical: To mark the start of Advent, the season of preparation for Christmas, we bring together single folks, entire families, and occasional singers in a special intergenerational program that is preformed on the day when we decorate the church with Greens. Typically three or four rehearsals are held prior to this program. It's a lot of fun for everyone involved! Summer Choir: Our summer choir is a unique way to make music if you're in town during July and August. No long-term commitment required: simply come to rehearsal 45 minutes before worship to learn the day's music.
