Upcoming Events
Sunday, September 26th, at 4 pm: Paul Keller Jazz Quartet kicks off our fourth year of “Great Performances in a Sacred Space" with Swingin’ The Praise, a unique program that features jazz, gospel spirituals and beloved hymns in an afternoon of music guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, uplift your spirit, and set your toes tapping! No tickets required; donatation suggested.
Swingin’ The Praise is drawn from string bassist Paul Keller’s collaboration with pianist Steve Richko, released as a jazz/gospel CD in 2009. Paul and Steve are joined by saxophonist Ben Jansson and drummer Sean Dobbins as they swing their praises to God for his blessings. The four are among Detroit’s best-known jazz artists—but more than that, they are friends who have played together for many years, and their joy is clearly evident in the music they make, and how they make it together.
